After opening as a temporary service due to COVID 19 restrictions in August 2020 smilechldcare are over the moon and delighted to announce that we became a permanent service in January 2021 and were able to celebrate operating as an under 3 setting for a year this August 2021. During this time, we have welcomed 24 new families and waved farewell to many children who have moved on to the 3-5 setting and the next stage of their journey.
To celebrate this milestone, we enjoyed a two-day celebration inviting all children to join in the celebrations attending on their normal sessions wearing their favourite outfit, whatever that may be. The celebration took the form of a very special healthy homemade lunch with dancing and singing throughout the day, with of course the all-important cake!!
Whilst recognising what we have achieved in such a short period especially under the restrictions of Covid-19 we asked the parents to share with us how the service has supported the children and families and were delighted with the fantastic comments such as ….
“We may not say this all the time but you help and guidance to our children are very much appreciated. You are helping us raise them to become such talented, smart and kind individuals. You are making our work as parents so much easier. Thank you for helping our child to explore ways of doing things now!”
“The warm, engaging and nurturing nature of the nursery staff is commendable. I could see the progress already since my son joined the nursery. I have been delighted by the very high standard of care and development this team at smilechildcare have provided my son. The facilities are excellent and the staff clearly care about the children”
The staff are very appreciative to be part of such a strong, supportive and happy team and we believe it is rare to have come this far still having the passion and commitment we had when we first discussed our vision for this setting. We shared with each other our thoughts on our colleagues acknowledging the respectful relationships we have whilst embracing our differences and staff morale was boosted when comments such as ….
“Your gentle, loving and compassionate approach to children is truly beautiful to witness and your unwavering work ethic is hugely valued”
Please enjoy some of the photographs from our celebration and look forward to welcoming many more families for many years to come.
